Thank you for your interest in supporting the Homer Foundation by serving as a volunteer on one of the Foundation’s committees. We believe our communities are stronger when everyone gives, serves, and leads together. That’s why it’s important to the process to include diverse community members with different perspectives to participate on committees like this one.
Please take a moment to share a little about yourself and why you are interested in volunteering your time to support this community grant-making program. We are so glad you are here!
Thank you for considering service on the Homer Foundation Board of Trustees. We would like to get to know you better and to get a sense of how we fit your goals for contributing to your community and how you may best help us meet ours.
Whether you have selected us or we have reached out to you, this application is the first step. Please fill out this Potential Board Member Application and Survey online at www.homerfoundation.org or a paper copy may be dropped off at the Homer Foundation office at 3733 Ben Walters Lane, Suite 7 in Homer, or mailed to PO Box 2600, Homer, AK 99603.
Board service is a rewarding, enjoyable, and meaningful pursuit. As a working voluntary board, we seek new members who will bring varying knowledge, perspectives, and community connections as we serve our neighbors.
Involvement includes monthly board meetings and occasional events each year as well as serving on one or more committees or in leadership roles. Board members generally spend 5-15 hours per month on board activities. Terms are for two years with a limit of 10 years in total. Board member involvement also includes personal charitable giving to support the operations of the Homer Foundation, at whatever level is meaningful to the particular Board member. Giving levels vary among Board members.
The application below will help us identify your characteristics that will help us identify Board members who would enhance the existing Board. The final selection is then by vote of the full Board of Trustees.
We are looking forward to getting to know you.
