Field of Interest Funds

Field of Interest Funds are permanent funds established to support a broad purpose or issue such as youth, arts, education, or human services. Income is distributed annually per the purpose of each Fund.

  • A Music Education Fund in Memory of Renda Horn (The Horn Section)
    Supports music education.
  • Anchor Point Fund
    To benefit nonprofits who serve the Anchor Point area.
  • Ashley J. Logan Fund
    To benefit youth in the greater Homer area.
  • Bluegrass Fund
    To benefit health and social services in the greater Homer area.
  • Brother Asaiah Bates Fund
    Supports youth and families at risk through the Homer Head Start program.
  • Choices for Teens Fund
    Supports programs that empower youth to solve their own problems, provide prevention and intervention resources to deal with the issues of underage drinking, alcohol and alcohol abuse, and other destructive decisions and their consequences.
  • City of Homer Fund
    Earnings are distributed through the annual City of Homer Grants Program to provide general operating support to local nonprofits serving the residents of the City of Homer.
  • Constance M. Benston Fund
    Supports cat care at the Homer Animal Shelter.
  • Daisy Lee Bitter Marine & Coastal Education Fund
    Supports youth programs and marine & coastal education programs.
  • Gary Thomas Memorial Fund
    Supports community development
  • Girl Scouts Travel Fund
    To support Girl Scout travel costs or other girl experiential learning travel costs and activities.
  • Homer Kachemak Bay Rotary Club Fund
    Supports Rotary community service projects.
  • JEMCO Fund
    Supports youth music education and general projects
  • Jessica M. Stevens Memorial Fund
    Supports tuition, fees, or admission costs for the attendance of deserving local youth in workshops instructing primarily in performing and visual arts.
  • Kachemak City Fund
    To benefit the residents of Kachemak City and surrounding areas.  
  • Kevin Bell & Family Hockey Fund
    Supports entry-level hockey programs.
  • Library Endowment Fund
    Supports the Homer Public Library. 
  • Martha H. Briscoe Environmental Science and Conservation Fund
    Supports Environmental Science, Environmental Education, and Conservation. 
  • Nanwalek Fund
    To benefit nonprofits who serve the Nanwalek area.
  • Ninilchik Community Fund
    To benefit nonprofits who serve the Ninilchik area.
  • Peony Gardens Beautification Fund
    To keep the peony gardens within the commercial business district beautiful.
  • Rotary Club of Homer Downtown Fund
    Supports Rotary community service projects.
  • Rotary Exchange Student Fund
    Provides funding to the 5010 Rotary District Youth Exchange Students who are economically challenged
  • Sheldon Youth to Youth Fund
    Supports the Homer Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee.  Established with support from Robert and Melon Purcell in memory of their son Sheldon.
  • Spay & Neuter Fund
    Supports spay and neuter clinics for dogs and cats in the Homer area.
  • Veterans Fund
    To support programs that enhance the lives of its Veterans and their families.
